Creating an Effective Advert
To help you create an effective advert please follow these steps:
- Keep it simple - Think of the few things that make your business stand out from your competition and use that to grab attention.
- It's all about Space - Think about the space you have available for your advert. Do not overcrowd or overfill your advert with too much information as this will reduce its impact and make it more difficult to read.
- Make it stand Out - Using borders and blocks of black with white text will make you advert stand off the page and really eyecatching.
- White space, BOLD, Underline, Italics, Capitalisation & Fonts can all can help to to emphasise your advert. - but don't overuse them!
- Avoid using technical jargon that the reader may not understand.
- If you have a recognisable logo or corporate image / style, then use it throughout your advertising so that potential customers become familiar with your company.
- Highlight any special offers or unique services that only you provide.
- Advertising on a monthly basis will pay dividends in the long term as potential customers are more likely to contact a company they see as well established and easily contactable.
- Make sure you put your website or email address in your advert.
Following these few steps will ensure that you end up with a great looking advert which is easy to read, eye catching, and will attract you customers!
